Plan with the full picture
Small assumptions can make a meaningful difference.
Can I meet my goal and still have a budget gap?
Yes. If your current monthly gap is $400, an extra $300 goal improves that budget but may not cover it. The planner shows the goal and the resulting budget separately. “Cover the full gap” uses your original budget.
Does this include taxes and the cost of working more?
Use your own estimated combined payroll deduction percentage. Add costs such as childcare or commuting that arise from these extra hours. This tool does not calculate tax liability or determine overtime eligibility.
Why are the hours a little higher than my exact goal?
The estimate rounds required weekly hours up to the next tenth, then recalculates earnings and costs. That way the displayed hours cover your extra monthly goal within the stated assumptions.
