Your financial inputs stay in your browser

Financial inputs are processed in browser memory. We do not send your income, expenses, goals, deduction percentages, or calculation results to our servers or analytics. Inputs are not added to URLs. Navigation within this tab keeps your draft; refreshing clears it unless you choose device saving.

Optional device saving

“Remember inputs on this device” stores your personal draft in this browser’s localStorage under disposable-income-budget:v1. This is not an account or cloud backup. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to access it.

Turning device saving off removes the saved draft while keeping current entries in memory. “Reset all inputs” clears your current draft and this tool’s saved financial data, leaving unrelated storage and your usage-count preference intact. Example inputs are never saved. Storage failures do not prevent calculation.

Optional usage counts

Usage counts are off until you choose “Allow usage counts.” If you allow them, we count four actions: starting a calculator, viewing a valid result, comparing extra work, and viewing a goal result (including an unreachable goal). Each action is counted at most once per tool page visit, after you edit your own inputs. Examples and unchanged restored drafts are excluded.

Requests contain only the event name, a fixed tool route, feature name, and a status such as “ready.” No amounts, financial percentages, field values, result values, full URLs, referrers, persistent identifiers, or session recordings are included. Counts are stored in daily totals by event and page, not as individual event histories. This does not measure unique people.

The receiver retains daily totals for up to 400 days during normal operation; expired rows are removed on subsequent valid event requests. Hosting backups may persist under the provider’s retention policy. We do not store IP addresses or user agents in the analytics database. Like any website request, the hosting provider processes connection information to deliver and secure the service.

You can decline or turn off usage counts below. Your choice is saved separately in localStorage under disposable-income-usage:v1; it is a preference, not a tracking identifier. Resetting financial inputs does not reset this choice. If browser storage is blocked, the choice applies only to this tab. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable these counts. Turning counts off stops future events; already aggregated totals cannot be linked back to you.

Statistics only describe consenting, observable visits. We do not count people who decline as failed calculations.

Hosting and other requests

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. The host receives normal page and asset requests, including network information needed to serve them, and may process operational or security logs under its own policies. We do not add financial inputs to those requests or to application error logs.

This version contains no ad scripts, third-party analytics scripts, remote fonts, tracking cookies, or session replay. Browser extensions, device backups, email providers, and browser settings are outside this tool’s controls.

Contact and feedback

If you email us, your email provider and ours process that message. Send made-up examples rather than pay stubs, account numbers, or other personal financial details. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
